by Editorial

As part of the constant efforts of Indian Army to reach their gallant veterans and the families, The Guards Regiment Centre, Kmaptee, rendered a helping hand to Veer Mata Satyabhama Laxman Rajguru, mother of gallantry award-winner late Naik Sumedh Laxman Rajguru, Shaurya Chakra (2 Para Special Forces), on behalf of General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa area.

She has been staying alone in her house at Gora Bazar of Kmaptee Cantonment. Having been through the current pandemic, her house was submerged in water and silt, during the recent floods in Kanhan river on 29 August. To tide over the financial constraints, she was handed over a cheque of Rs 50,000 as an immediate financial aid by the Army authorities.

Satyabhama Laxman Rajguru expressed deep gratitude to the Indian Army, for always being there to support her and to Guards Regiment Centre for looking after her with essential needs from time to time. On the day of floods, she was evacuated and accommodated in the Army guest house till the situation normalised and was provided with further assistance in the form of restoration of house and provision of all amenities. The deep connection between the family and the Army is a reflection of the finest culture of our armed forces.
