INS SHIVAJI COMMEMORATES QUIT INDIA MOVEMENT

INS Shivaji organised various activities on Monday at Station Lonavala towards commemoration of 79th anniversary of Quit India Movement. The events were planned as part of a series of events being conducted for the momentous occasion of the Nation’s 75th anniversary of Indian Independence ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’.

Lectures and presentations were undertaken for Naval personnel and their families to enlighten them about various activities and milestones during the freedom struggle, with special emphasis on Quit India Movement and its crucial role towards India’s Independence.

‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ is an embodiment of all that is progressive about India’s social-economic, political and economic identity. Towards the same, webinars and talks were conducted for all school going children in the station to edify them about the freedom struggle and the importance of embracing the nation’s vision of activating India 2.0 fuelled by the spirit of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

The establishment’s main entrances were named by Cmde Arvind Rawal, Station Commander, Lonavala as ‘Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Dwar’ and ‘Kanhoji Angre Dwar’ in honour of the leaders of the Maratha region, who had a major and inspiring influence on the nation’s freedom fighters.

The activities for ‘Aazadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ will continue till 15 August 2023.
